Five Things You Can Actually Do Today, Wherever You Are

Five Things You Can Actually Do Today, Wherever You Are

You don’t need a plan to end violence against women globally. Nobody has that plan. What you have is today, and one thing you can actually do with it. Here are five, one for each of SUNDÈN’s pillars.

1. Advocacy — learn one sign you didn’t know before, and say something.
You don’t need to become an expert. Just one more thing today than you knew yesterday — and the willingness to name it out loud if you see it.

2. Healing — give yourself five honest minutes today.
Healing starts with noticing what you actually need, not what you’re supposed to project. Five honest minutes counts.

3. Safety — draw one line, out loud, in your own home.
If there’s something you’ve been letting slide, decide today instead of eventually. Say it out loud, even just to yourself.

4. Empowerment — make one purchase mean something.
Next time you’re buying a gift, choose something where part of it funds protection work directly. It costs you nothing extra.

5. Community — check on one child who isn’t yours, and tell one person this exists.
A genuine “are you okay?” to a child or teenager in your orbit. And one person told that this is a global mission that includes them, wherever they are.

That’s it. Five things, today, wherever you are.
