A Note to You

If you are reading this book, I want you to know something immediately and without qualification: I believe you. Whatever you have experienced, whatever has brought you to these pages, I believe you.

Here is something else I need you to know: you are not to blame. Whatever happened, it was not your fault. Abusive behavior is a choice made by the abuser. It is never caused by the person it is directed at. Full stop.
